Description
UNITROL1010 is a compact IGBT-based automatic voltage regulator belonging to ABB UNITROL 1000 series, customized for small and medium synchronous generator brushless excitation control. It provides 10A continuous DC excitation output and 20A 10-second overload output, with steady-state voltage regulation accuracy up to ±0.25%. Supporting dual communication interfaces including RS485 Modbus RTU and Ethernet, it realizes remote parameter configuration and real-time data uploading. The module operates stably within -25℃ to +60℃ with IP20 cabinet internal protection, adopting 110-240V AC wide-range power supply. With compact dimensions of 130.5mm × 114.3mm × 45mm and 0.4kg net weight, it supports DIN rail installation. It integrates 3 analog inputs, 2 analog outputs and 12 digital I/Os, fulfilling generator voltage regulation, reactive power adjustment and grid paralleling auxiliary control for distributed power stations.
In terms of electrical performance, the maximum adjustable DC excitation output ranges from 0 to 350V, with built-in overcurrent, overvoltage and field loss protection logic to prevent generator rotor burnout. The embedded EMC filter meets IEC 61000-6-2 industrial anti-interference standards, resisting electromagnetic interference from nearby high-power inverters and switchgears. For on-site debugging, it reserves local USB debugging port, which allows engineers to download fault logs and modify PID parameters without connecting to upper computer DCS. It supports parallel operation of multiple generators with automatic reactive power sharing, avoiding cross-current between paralleled units.
The modular integrated structure eliminates external auxiliary relay circuits, reducing on-site wiring workload by nearly 40%. It supports hot parameter modification without generator shutdown, and front-panel LED arrays display excitation overcurrent, field loss, communication interruption and power anomaly separately. Certified by DNV, UL and CE, it adapts to coastal high-humidity and high-altitude harsh working conditions. It is widely matched with 50-5000kW synchronous generators, occupying minimal cabinet space and simplifying the overall excitation system layout for small-scale power projects.
