Description
FI820F is a redundant PROFIBUS-DP slave interface module belonging to ABB Freelance 800F distributed control system, dedicated to connecting Freelance controller to external PROFIBUS-DP master stations. It adopts independent RS485 differential signal circuit with galvanic isolation of 2.5kV, which can eliminate ground loop interference between heterogeneous control devices. The module supports adjustable baud rates ranging from 9.6 kbps to 12 Mbps, covering all mainstream on-site bus transmission demands, and the maximum transmission distance reaches 1200 meters at 9.6 kbps without signal amplifiers. It features dual redundant PROFIBUS interfaces for seamless link switching, with switching delay less than 20ms and no data loss during fault switching. Powered by 24V DC backplane power supply, it has typical power consumption of 3.2W, and works stably under ambient temperature from 0℃ to +60℃ and 5% to 95% non-condensing humidity. It complies with IEC 61131-2 industrial safety standards and CE EMC certification for industrial cabinet deployment. The module integrates automatic bus address identification and fault self-diagnosis functions. Four front-panel LED indicators separately display power status, bus communication, link redundancy and internal failure, supporting one-click fault locating. It supports hot swapping without controller shutdown or program interruption, minimizing production downtime during module replacement. It can be installed on S800 I/O rack backplane, compatible with AC800F and Freelance 2019 system versions, and allows up to 32 FI820F modules deployed in a single control station. Widely used in chemical, water treatment and cement industries, it realizes bidirectional data interaction between ABB Freelance DCS and Siemens PLC, frequency converters and remote DP I/O stations.
