Description
ABB 216GD61a auxiliary relay and optocoupler assembly
Function and role: Provide signal conversion, isolation and control functions for the REG216 digital generator protection module. Specifically, it processes various input and output signals through internal relays and optocouplers, ensuring reliable transmission and isolation between signals of different potentials and types, preventing interference, and enhancing the stability and reliability of the system.
Internal structure: This component integrates eight trip relays, 16 auxiliary relays and 16 optocouplers. Each trip relay is equipped with a powerful non-potential trip contact and a surge circuit, which can quickly and reliably cut off the circuit in case of a fault, protecting the safety of the equipment.
Application scenarios: Mainly applied in the REG216 digital generator protection system, it plays a role in the generator protection, control and monitoring links of the power system. For instance, when the generator experiences faults such as overcurrent, overvoltage, or undervoltage, the 216GD61a component can promptly transmit the fault signal to the protection device through its relay and optocoupler, triggering the corresponding protection action, thereby ensuring the safe and stable operation of the generator and the entire power system.
Scalability: Up to four such components can be provided to meet the protection requirements of power systems of different scales and complexities, facilitating the expansion and upgrade of the system based on actual needs.
