Emerson  5X00121G01  thermal resistance input card

5X00121G01 is a key module of Emerson’s Ovation distributed control system (DCS), belonging to the RTD input card. It is mainly used for the collection, conversion and transmission of high-precision temperature signals in industrial scenarios.

Multi-channel temperature monitoring: Supports 8-channel independent thermal resistance sensor input, capable of simultaneously collecting temperature data from multiple points. It is suitable for complex systems that require multi-point monitoring (such as large reactors, boiler arrays, etc.).
Signal processing and conversion: Convert the resistance value variation of thermal resistors (such as PT100) into standard electrical signals (such as 4-20mA, 0-10V or digital signals), and ensure the signal’s anti-interference performance through electrical isolation technology.
Industrial-grade data interaction: Seamless integration with control systems such as PLC and DCS, providing real-time data support for temperature closed-loop control.

High-precision temperature measurement and linear correction
The built-in hardware linearization circuit compensates for the nonlinear characteristics of the thermal resistor, ensuring that the measurement error is ≤0.1% throughout the full measurement range. For example, the resistance of PT100 is 100Ω at 0°C and 138.5Ω at 100° C. The module can precisely calculate the corresponding relationship between resistance and temperature through algorithms to avoid nonlinear errors.

Anti-interference design
The electrical isolation between channels and the metal shielding housing effectively resist electromagnetic interference in industrial environments (such as interference from the start and stop of frequency converters and motors), ensuring distortion-free signal transmission.
Fault diagnosis and redundancy functions
Support sensor disconnection and short circuit detection, and report the fault status in real time; Some models support hot standby redundancy (which requires the combination of redundant power supply and communication modules) to enhance system reliability.
