Working Principle

Data Acquisition

The module is equipped with multiple input interfaces to connect various sensors for collecting on-site data. For example, it acquires information on temperature, pressure, flow, position, speed, etc., through digital input, pulse input, and encoder input interfaces. These input signals can be analog or digital. The module performs preliminary conditioning on the input signals, including filtering and amplification, to ensure accuracy and stability, then converts them into digital signals suitable for internal processing.

Data Processing and Calculation

The module integrates a high-performance processor, such as a 32-bit RISC processor. The processor further processes the collected digital signals, analyzing, calculating, and comparing data based on preset control algorithms and logic. It executes various logical operations (e.g., AND, OR, NOT) and complex mathematical calculations to implement different control strategies. Advanced control algorithms like PID are also applied to compute the corresponding control quantity based on the deviation between the set value and the actual collected value, providing a basis for subsequent control output.

Control Output

Based on the results of data processing and calculation, the module sends control signals through its output interfaces to drive external actuators. With digital output functionality, it controls the on/off of contactors, solenoid valves, etc., for switch control. For continuous regulation, it outputs standard analog signals (e.g., 4-20mA) via analog output interfaces to control devices like control valves and frequency converters, enabling precise control of industrial processes (e.g., adjusting temperature, pressure, flow parameters to maintain them within set ranges).

Communication Function

The 8C-PCNT01 module supports multiple communication protocols, commonly including RS-485 and Modbus RTU. Through these interfaces and protocols, it communicates with upper computers (e.g., PLC, DCS systems) or other devices. It uploads collected data and operational status to the upper computer for monitoring and management, while receiving control commands and parameter settings to adjust working modes and control strategies, enabling remote control and integrated system management.

Alarm and Interlock

The module continuously monitors collected data and system operation status. When parameters exceed preset alarm thresholds or anomalies occur, it promptly triggers alarm signals. Additionally, based on preset interlock logic, it automatically executes corresponding interlock actions under specific conditions (e.g., cutting off power to certain devices or starting backup equipment) to ensure safe and stable industrial production.

The module features system management functions responsible for software initialization, operation monitoring, resource scheduling, etc. It self-checks hardware status, performs fault diagnosis, and alarms in case of hardware failures, facilitating troubleshooting and maintenance.
