Description
FOXBORO FBM201 Analog Input Interface Module
Functional Features
- Multi-channel Input: Equipped with 8 analog input channels, each channel can accept analog sensor signals in various ranges such as 0-20mA DC, 0-100mV DC, 0-5V DC, 0-10V DC, etc. It can collect multiple different analog signals simultaneously, meeting the requirements of various industrial on-site signal input needs.
- High-precision Conversion: Adopting sigma-delta data conversion technology, it can provide a new analog input reading every 25 milliseconds. The analog accuracy (including linearity) can reach ±0.03% of the full scale, and the temperature coefficient is ±50ppm/ºC, which can effectively eliminate process noise and power line frequency noise, achieving high-precision conversion from analog signals to digital signals.
- Channel Isolation: Each analog input channel is insulated from other channels and ground. The module/TA can withstand 600V AC potential for one minute between any channel and ground, or between a specific channel and any other channel without damage, which can effectively reduce signal interference and improve system stability.
- Configurable Parameters: Executes analog input applications, providing configurable options for conversion time, integration time, and rate-of-change limits. Users can set them according to actual needs to optimize module performance.
- Robust and Compact Design: Adopts a durable acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) shell or aluminum alloy shell. The chassis design can provide different levels of environmental protection, up to the harsh environment specified by ISA standard S71.04. Meanwhile, it has a compact size, suitable for installation in cabinets with limited space.
- Easy Maintenance: The module is installed on a compact 200-series base plate. When removing/replacing the module, there is no need to remove the on-site equipment terminal cables, power supply, or communication cables, which is convenient and fast, reducing maintenance time and costs.

Technical Parameters
- Input Channel Impedance: Nominal 61.5Ω.
- Common Mode Rejection: >100db at 50 or 60Hz.
- Loop Power Protection: Each channel has functions of inter-channel electrical isolation, current limiting, and voltage regulation. The designed current limit for all analog inputs is less than 40mA.
- Wiring Distance of On-site Equipment: The maximum distance between the on-site equipment and FBM is a function of the voltage (22.8V DC), wire resistance, and voltage drop of the on-site equipment.
- Input Signal A/D Conversion: Each channel uses an independent Sigma-Delta converter for A/D signal conversion.
- Integration Period: Software configurable.
- Power Supply: Usually, the external power supply is DC 9V 500mA, and the wide voltage supply range is DC 5-35V.

Application Scenarios
- Industrial Automation Control: Widely used in production process control systems in industries such as chemical industry, petroleum, electric power, and metallurgy. It is used to collect analog signals of process variables such as temperature, pressure, flow, and liquid level, convert them into digital signals for processing and control by the control system, and realize precise control and optimization of the production process.
- Environmental Monitoring: Can be used in environmental monitoring systems to collect analog signals such as atmospheric temperature, humidity, pollutant concentration, and water quality parameters, providing accurate data support for environmental monitoring and data analysis.
- Intelligent Buildings: In intelligent building systems, it can be used to collect analog signals of equipment such as air conditioning systems, lighting systems, and security systems, realizing centralized monitoring and management of building equipment, and improving the intelligence level and energy utilization efficiency of buildings.
- Transportation: Can be applied in road traffic control automation systems to collect analog signals such as traffic flow, vehicle speed, and road conditions, providing data support for traffic management and scheduling, and realizing intelligent traffic control.
