Functions and Applications

It is used for management, primary protection, and control of distribution feeders, and can also provide backup protection for busbars, transformers, and transmission lines. It is applicable to distribution feeder protection in solidly grounded, high-impedance grounded, or resonant grounding systems. It can also be used in scenarios such as busbar interlocking schemes, high-speed fault detection for arc flash mitigation, load shedding schemes, transmission line backup protection, and distributed generation interconnection protection.

Protection Functions

  • Overcurrent Protection: Equipped with two-phase TOC (Time Overcurrent) elements, each phase is equipped with a level detector. The pickup current level for tripping, alarming, or control can be set. It allows selection of 15 curve shapes and curve multipliers, with instantaneous or linear reset time characteristics and voltage limiting functions. In addition, there are two-phase IOC (Instantaneous Overcurrent) elements, each phase with a level detector, enabling setting of pickup current, action time delay, and the minimum number of phases required for operation.
  • Ground Overcurrent Protection: Features neutral IOC and TOC, as well as ground IOC and TOC functions, suitable for ground fault protection in solidly grounded and low-impedance grounded distribution systems. Directional elements can be used to supervise ground overcurrent protection elements for isolating faulty feeders, preventing feedback to utility power faults, etc.
  • Sensitive Ground and Restricted Ground Fault Protection: Includes two-stage protection: instantaneous (50N) and 定时 (51N), with directional monitoring functions to distinguish between forward and reverse faults. Dual polarization (current and voltage) provides higher safety and reliability. The RGF function can also be utilized to provide transformer backup protection.
  • Voltage Protection: Has overvoltage/undervoltage protection functions, which can trip or issue an alarm when the voltage exceeds the specified setting value for a certain period. Communication Capabilities

It is equipped with three standard serial communication ports: one RS232 port on the front panel, two RS485/RS422 ports at the rear of the relay, and a rear Ethernet port as an optional feature. It supports ModBus® RTU, DNP3.0 Level 2, and ModBus RTU TCP/IP protocols. The communication system can communicate through all ports simultaneously, allowing integration into local area networks (LAN) or wide area networks (WAN).

Supported by industry-leading software toolkits, it has precise built-in metering functions, enables I/O monitoring, and features IRIG-B time synchronization, event reporting, waveform capture, data loggers, etc. These help improve the uptime of auxiliary equipment and reduce troubleshooting time and maintenance costs. It adopts a drawer-type structure for easy replacement, with a built-in simulation function to simplify testing. A conformal coating is also optional to adapt to chemically corrosive and humid environments.
