Description

NI  PXI-2510  Fault Insertion Unit

Channel characteristics: It features 68 feedthrough channels and can be set open or short circuits for one or two faulty buses. Each fault bus also contains a 4×1 input multiplexer, allowing users to add fault types and quantities more flexibly through software control.

Electrical parameters: Supports a maximum voltage of 150V and a current of 2A. The maximum switching voltage between channels and from channel to ground is 150V (Class 1).
Safety: Compliant with the IEC 61010-1 international standard, the design has passed the inspection of third-party institutions such as UL, ensuring safe and reliable use in high-voltage and high-current environments.
Reliability: It integrates on-board relay counting and tracking function, allowing you to view the number of operating cycles of each relay. It also provides replaceable relay kits for easy replacement at the end of the relay’s life. In addition, the module has passed the High Accelerated Life Test (HALT) and can operate stably in harsh environments such as high vibration.

Connection methods: Three connection options are provided, namely bolt terminals, bare wire, and DIN connectors. These can reduce noise and crosstalk, minimize system radiation, and ensure the safety and reliability of the connection.
Trigger function: Trigger signals can be sent and received through the PXI backplane. For automated testing, the trigger signals of real-time simulation can be sent to the sequence through fault conditions. For complex sequences and dynamic fault control requirements, a PXI Field Programmable Gate array (FPGA) module can be used to interact with one or more FIUs via the PXI backplane for trigger signals.

Software support: In the Windows environment, interactive configuration and testing can be carried out through the NI-SWITCH soft front panel (SFP). The attached NI-DAQmx hardware driver can programmatically access all the functions of the module through LabVIEW Real-Time and the Windows operating system. Usually, it can also be controlled through NI VeriStand software. FIU can be managed in the same environment, and real-time I/O, incentive configuration files, etc. can be configured simultaneously.
