Function and application: It is used to route RF or microwave signals in automatic test applications, and is also suitable for transmitting high-order harmonics from the PXI RF signal upper frequency converter module, or routing multiple signal sources to the PXI RF signal lower frequency converter module.
Frequency characteristics: The operating bandwidth can reach up to 40GHz. When operating at this bandwidth, the insertion loss is less than 1dB, which has almost no significant impact on low-frequency signals.
Switching characteristics: By taking advantage of the timing and synchronization functions of the PXI platform, it can work in coordination with different instruments within the PXI chassis. Users can store the list of switch associations in the on-board memory of the module. Through the built-in hardware scanning and triggering mechanism, the switch sequence can be advanced, enabling rapid communication with PXI instruments such as digital multimeters or oscilloscopes that can receive and send advanced trigger signals.

Electrical characteristics: Electromechanical relays are adopted, with a rated voltage of 30V AC.
Topology structure: It is a dual transmission topology structure, which can achieve specific signal routing functions.
Channel conditions: There are 8 differential input channels for analog signals, and at the same time, 16 auxiliary digital signal input and output channels and 2 32-bit multi-functional counters are provided.

Application
Satellite communication module testing: For Ka-band (26.5-40GHz) equipment in satellite communication, such as transponders and low-noise amplifiers (Lnas), different channels of RF signals are switched through PXI-2798, and in combination with oscilloscopes or signal analyzers, the signal transmission stability and anti-interference ability in the high-frequency band are verified.

Rf switch matrix expansion: When used in combination with other PXI RF modules (such as PXI-2796), a larger-scale switch matrix is constructed, supporting simultaneous routing of multi-channel signals. It is suitable for scenarios requiring complex signal path switching (such as multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) system testing).

High-frequency circuit research and development and teaching: In the RF circuit laboratories of universities or research institutions, PXI-2798 can be used as a teaching tool to help students understand the principle of high-frequency signal routing and support the design and test experiments of devices such as microstrip antennas and RF filters.
